I purchased my first DSLR camera in 2008. It was a Sony α350 that I used until 2015, when one of the lenses disassembled itself. I realised that in order to keep my pictures organised I needed to step up my game and went from utilising folders and subfolders to managing my pictures with Aperture.
Even so, I didn't use tags much other than for people until 2014. That year I took several pictures a day and started tagging them so that I could find the photo that I was looking for among the thousands of files stored in my hard drives with ease.
This list is the result of that tedious process — a list of words that I have used over the years to tag thousands of photographs.
This website utilised tracking technologies to collect some information about visitors. All was done locally — we didn't sell or share your personal details to anyone and only used the data for statistical purposes: we didn'’t exploit commercially the intel we gathered. Yet, if you had liked to opt out, you could've done so by turning on the “Do Not Track” option within your browser settings or uncheck the box at the bottom on the main site. It doesn't include any tracking code anymore.
